The professional development series prepares young men to be productive citizens by teaching job-readiness skills such as resume writing, networking, interview protocol, and goal setting.

Leadership Development
We believe in the growth and development of young men.  Evolution offers opportunities for members to learn crucial leadership skills and apply these skills first at the Center and then to the greater community.  Select Evolution Center participants are known as the Future Leaders of Atlanta (FLOA).  FLOA members serve as peer leaders who direct activities, determine discussion topics, invite professional guests, and steer program initiatives.

Brother 2 Brother
The Brother 2 Brother sessions are among the Evolution Center’s most popular activities.  These peer led sessions are aimed at empowering youth by encouraging participants to have open discussions about real life situations.

Brothers Speak
This professionally moderated group activity seeks to address the how and why of personal behavior. These groups help members identify issues impacting their lives while creating pathways to healthier decision making. It’s fun, friendly, and fabulous!

Book Club
The Evolution Center Book Club is conducted twice a week.  Participants read stories of romance, politics, sexuality, spirituality, and notable biographies.  Members become engaged in the storytelling process and are encouraged to debate the issues among each other.

Game Night
Sometimes we just relax and kick it.  During game night the best spade players come out!  Whether you like Jeopardy, Pictionary, Uno, Monopoly, or Black Jack, game night is the place to be!

HIV Awareness/HIV Testing
The Evolution Center offers free and confidential HIV testing and post-test counseling during operating hours.  Test results can often be provided in as little as 20 minutes.  HIV prevention counseling is also provided.  The Evolution Project uses the Oraquick Advance testing technology. With the initial test, you will have a choice of testing with an oral swab or a fingerstick blood sample. Preliminary positive test results are confirmed with a fingerstick test.

STD Testing
The Evolution Center provides free and confidential testing for sexually transmitted diseases two times each month.  In cases of confirmed STD infection, trained staff will arrange access to treatment.
